DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 50 Years of the Hay Creek Festival – Sepember 11 – 13\, 2026.\nAntique Cars\, Tractors\, Farm Equipment\, Motorcycles & Bicycles\, Hit & Miss Engine\, and Military Equipment for Exhibit\nAs always the Hay Creek Festival invites Mechanical Technology enthusiasts to be a part of our Festival.\nSign up to bring your antique car\, tractor\, motorcycle\, bicycle\, hit & miss engine\, military equipment.  Registration is FREE and can be done on our website.\nKeep in mind all exhibitors are admitted free into our festival. \nThe Hay Creek Festival is 50 years old!!!!  Wow …. It is hard to believe it. The Hay Creek Valley Historical Association is about to host its community event. This will be the 50th time. A lot has changed over the years. The festival still offers a true American history experience. Volunteer historians share their passion and keep the crafts and trades of yesteryear alive.   Plus\, festival goers come to our festival to eat. Our festival has a big menu of tasty homemade foods. It includes Mabel Sparr’s kettle-cooked soups. For those of you who never met Mabel\, she was a true staple in our community. She cooked thousands of gallons of soup. She cooked for family gatherings\, the Morgantown Carnival\, Harmony Church events\, and our festival. \nThe 2026 festival will be a crowd pleaser. It will mix our traditional activities with new crafts\, exhibits\, and demonstrations. This includes hosting a Big Band Swing Dance on Saturday\, evening\, September 12th.   Check out the concert details at www.haycreek.org.

DESCRIPTION:  \nHagley Car Show\n\nNEXT DATE: September 20\, 2026 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Sunday\n\ncategory: Feature on Home Page\, Family Programs\, Featured Events | location: \nVisitor Center\n\n\n\nThe 2026 Special Feature is American Independent Automakers.\n \nThe Hagley Car Show brings together hundreds of antique and restored cars for what has been called “The Best Car Show in Delaware!”  This year’s show includes more than 500 cars from the early 1900s through the late 1990s. \nThree special “feature fields” highlight dozens of cars celebrating this year’s theme. \nThe Car Show also includes a vehicle parade\, motoring music\, and food trucks in Hagley’s park-like setting. \nWhile at the Car Show\, stop by the exhibition Du Ponts Down the Road in the 1844 Hagley Barn. The exhibition features historic vehicles created from 1890 to 1941 and ranging from a horse-drawn carriage to an early electric car to a WWII Era Indian Motorcycle—all owned and used by members of the du Pont family. Highlights of the new exhibition include a 1918 Cadillac and a 1928 DuPont Motors Model G Phaeton.
